Coffee Park
University Park, Texas
JBI Partners teamed with GGOArchitects in the renovation of this historic 8-acre park site. The improvements included a concrete perimeter trail linking all park areas and activities, informal landscaped seating areas off the trail, a re-oriented t-ball baseball field, a meditation garden with stone block seating, a sculpture garden, a 6,000 square foot accessible playground, and a custom architectural shade structure. A timeline of photographs and text mounted to stone monuments and placed at locations along the perimeter trail to tell the story and history of the City of University Park. The project combines an extensive landscape planting in all areas with the preservation of mature oak trees. Also included is a new irrigation system, along with a decorative sound barrier walls and ornamental fencing.
The JBI Partners role in the project was to provide the overall park master plan along with the site work construction documents. The project manager for JBI coordinated the master plan with the architect designing the structures, City approvals and the design of the sound walls being constructed on the same project schedule as the park.
