Carpenter Park
Originally completed in the early 1980s, Carpenter Park is the second most heavily used athletic complex in the City of Plano and required significant modernization to meet growing demand. JBI led a comprehensive renovation that transformed the site with 12 new soccer fields, including four synthetic turf fields, replacement of underutilized baseball fields, four new restroom buildings, two playgrounds, a skate park, expanded parking, and upgraded utility infrastructure. The design reimagined the existing concrete drainage channel as a series of pond features that enhance drainage while creating a visual amenity, and added more than 1.4 miles of perimeter trail connecting to the regional Bluebonnet Trail, along with accessible interior trails and a pedestrian bridge linking the north and south sides of the park. Delivered in two phases, with Phase 1 completed in August 2018, the fully built park is designed to serve the City of Plano’s athletic and recreational needs for decades to come.
