Plano Transit Veloweb
The Plano Transit Village Veloweb is a federally funded project that expands the regional trail network and strengthens multimodal connectivity between Richardson and downtown Plano. Developed by the City of Plano, the 12 foot wide concrete trail links the George Bush Turnpike DART Station to the historic Douglass Neighborhood and Plano’s urban core. Built within an active DART Light Rail right of way, the project required innovative solutions, including a dedicated trail shelf supported by structural retaining walls to safely navigate tight corridors and existing utilities. Through extensive coordination and approvals with DART, TxDOT, and the City, JBI Partners helped deliver a signature trail that connects transit, neighborhoods, and destinations while setting a precedent for future regional trail expansion.
